GALA OPENING CONCERT
1.7. 2016 at 20:30
Festival HallThe legendary band that played rock, beat, rhythm'n'blues, soul, funk and experimental jazz more than four decades ago and was one of the first electric bands that filled up Hala Tivoli and won the juries of numerous musical (also jazz) festivals in Yugoslavia and abroad, is performing in Bled after a series of sold-out concerts of 2015.
Despite a relatively short career, Mladi levi (Young Lions) and its expressive wind section was considered one of the best rock bands in Yugoslavia. Active between 1966 and 1975, the band’s initial members were Matjaž Deu, Tomaž Habe, Peter Hudobivnik, Bor Gostiša and Jernej Podboj. Gostiša soon left Mladi levi and joined Bele vrane; his place on the guitar was taken up by Janez Bončina – Benč, who was making a career for himself as a singer. The band made its first success with the song Oda Ireni (Ode to Irene), sang by Tomaž Pengov as guest lead singer.
In the Bled Festival Hall, Mladi Levi will perform their renewed and modernised repertoire and bring to their audiences the music that is forever young.
